arared; pop up store!

If you keep up with social media (especially Instagram), you would have realised that Malaysian brands are going far, guys. There's soooo many of them and although competition is mad crazy, they are all so unique and diverse from one another that it's really great for them, but not so great for customers because you just end up wanting them alllllllllll hehe.

If you're someone who loves pastel, I would definitely recommend going for Arared. The color palette is so soft, girly and the designs are so simple and classy. Definitely not a design that you'll see around easily, so don't worry about "Omg, she's wearing the exact same thing as me!" unless if um, the other person got an Arared outfit too! :)

If you're interested and would like to view and purchase the collection, they'll be at Goodwood Park Hotel, Parkland Split Level Studio from 12-5 pm this weekend. Alternatively, you can also make your purchase on Fashion Valet.

magic dust.

We used to have it all
But now's our curtain call
So hold for the applause
And wave out to the crowd
Take a final bow
Oh it's our time to go
But at least we stole the show

As much as I like the song, I don't want to be this. I don't want to once have it all and then in the end, it all comes to a stand still and you pacify yourself by saying that you once, made it. And that's enough. I know the song doesn't talk about life, in general, in fact, its about a failed relationship. But recently, it has got me thinking about my future plans, my aims, my goals. Probably its the fact that I've been surrounded by so many successful people recently, it has got me questioning. Am I okay with what I'm doing now? Am I settling? Am I okay with being contented with what I have?

No. The answer is no.

Its not because I am not satisfied, and I am not grateful for everything that God has given me, only God knows how much I profusely thank Him for my health, happiness and wealth He has granted me ever so generously. I am not contented because I know that I am capable of so much more. I used to tell myself that with everything I have now, I must be contented. When I thought I reached my peak, I got comfortable, and the thing about being comfortable is it creates this bubble, this safe space and you are made to believe that its ok to remain there.

Thai-silk like material, light and nursing friendly.
Definitely mommy approved pants, suitable for casual and formal wear.
All from Fashion Valet

I don't know what's going to happen the next few years, but I am determined that I have not reached my peak yet, I've not realised my full ability, I will not remain comfortable, I will continue to climb and move up. And don't get me wrong, I love my job but I'm totally not talking about it right now.

This is about growing, developing as a person. This is about moving myself forward, to achieve greater things in life and I will start this, by getting married to the one person who will constantly support and push me in every single thing I do, this Nov 21st. I believe, we're magnificent apart, but together, we're magic. And when you have something like magic, you have no idea how much it spurs you forward.

To greater achievements, light, love, and magic.

my KLIHF experience :)

I must really count my lucky stars. 2015 has been an absolutely exciting year for me. I've been given so many opportunities, tried things I've never thought I'd be given the honour to do, met people I used to only see online and whom I aspire to be. So, so many things. I can't even begin to describe how exhilarating it has been and how sghijabgirl has open up so many doors for me. Oh Allah, I can't thank You enough.

Recently, I was invited by Kuala Lumpur International Hijab Fair, mainly, the organisers, Women of Jannah, to represent Singapore as a Fashion Icon Ukhwah. To say that I was shocked beyond words, would be an understatement.

(Thank you Shea for these shots hehe!)

I met so many beautiful people from all over the world, I was blown away by their dakwah work, their entrepeneurial spirit, of the accomplishments they've achieved in such a short amount of time. These were people who only knew me for less than 24 hours and they held my hand during moments when I was so terrified of speaking infront of a huge audience. We only knew each other for the briefest of moments and they were the ones who had my back when I was shaking with stage fright, sweaty palms and all.

In addition, all the interviews done, via tv programmes such as TV 9's Safiyyah, Hijab Stailista and a live TV session on Nasi Lemak Kopi O, newspaper shoots for Hari Raya. The four days went past so quickly because every day was another new experience for me. I loved being around them, around the icons, around the people who took care of us (from Kolej Komuniti), and I loved being in an all-Islamic environment, with constant reminders of God, especially when they prayed jemaah together, every single day.

I think what awed me the most was seeing how they worked together to make sure the event ran smoothly. Its not easy coordinating students but the Kolej Komuniti lecturers and Women of Jannah made sure the best practical experience were made available for these Tourism students.

(with Aunty Sham, the liaison officer who took care of us from start till end, thank You Aunty!!!)

But the highlight of going through KLIHF 2015 was, having my parents and bestfriends with me. My parents accompanied me from the start, got excited when it was my turn to speak on stage, holding up their gadgets to record my embarrassing moments :') My bestfriends came all the way from SG, surprised me when I was having my breakfast at the hotel. My God, I couldn't have asked for greater people in my life.

Thank You so much Allah, for making this happen. For the push when I was hesitating, for creating this opportunity for me. I hope I will never change, and if I may change in the future, I hope it will only because You willed it and that change, is for the better.

Last but not least,
A huge thank you to Fashion Valet, dUCkscarves and Poplook for my outfits throughout the entire event :)

Much love,
