hsbc treetop walk!

I went hiking.

Woo, can't believe I'd ever say that again. I think the last time I went hiking was er, 2011, in Yunnan, China. I remember we climbed up for hours and saw beautiful waterfalls, entered caves and the moment we reached the peak, gosh, the magnificent view. But I think the reason why I dread hiking so much is because every single time I've hiked, I ended up hurting my soul, I mean, sole. Yes, I have a shoe problem when it comes to hiking. Always wearing nonsense shoes that are far from being appropriate for hiking ones.

And yes, history seems to repeat itself, again and again.
Sigh. When will I ever learn T.T

I usually can't come up with anything when a tourist asks me, where should he/she go? But I think I'll mention the treetop walk from now on, provided that they're healthy young people though hehe.

Initially, I thought it was just going to be an hour hike, HAHAHA who was I kidding.
The total hike up and trip down took almost 4 hours (with breaks) and totaled up to 8-10 km.

The start of it all, a path, a neverending journey (literally)

Hehe maybe I could bring this home, to use as a portable fan, you know? :D

Met cute monkeys.
Not really, I scurried away for my dear life.

MasyaAllah :)

After what seemed like eons, we're there!
Ah, it was truly, truly, truly a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow moment.
A light at the end of the tunnel.
An achievement unlocked.

The view was so worth it!!! Even though I was a bit scared cos you could really feel the walk swaying a bit as you're walking, but the sense of accomplishment I felt was really overwhelming.

Then the trip back.
Gosh, stairs and more stairs.

Tried my very best to give a happy achievement unlocked pose but what I wouldn't give to have a helicopter come pick me up HAHA.

Met a monitor lizard on our way down. Eeeks.

HAHA as usual, nonsense not appropriate for hiking shoes.

Moral of the story is?

Please get hiking shoes, nadya.

Would I recommend you to go?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Especially if you have a lot on your mind, wandering around in the forest, surrounded by trees, trees, greenery, sound of crickets, silence, I'd say the hike will give you just what you need.

But don't go alone ok. Anything can happen so you should always do it with a buddy :)

My cute monkey friends says bye.

Much love friends,
Nadya Abd
