OOTD: the beach

If I'm to tell you something about myself, I'd probably say this.

I'm not a nature person.

I still remember my trip to Switzerland with my parents and the first time I saw the surrounding snow capped mountains, I went, oh gosh, this is mega beautiful beyond words.

and then by our third night up in the lodge, in the middle of practically nothing except for lush greenery, tall, looming, white mountains, and several other cabin lodges, I felt so restless. I came to a conclusion that day, this girl here, needs to see her concrete buildings, shops, and the hustle bustle of the city.

But there's just something about the beach that gives me that instant calming feeling I can never find elsewhere. Maybe because I was brought up by parents who love to swim and so, my childhood memories were filled with the sound of waves crashing on the beach, the salty annoying taste of seawater, the feeling of being carried away as I float on my back staring at the vast sky.

I love that it gives me comfort, the kind of feeling that makes you feel safe, and home. It takes away all the loneliness because no matter what happens, just like the shore, always there, always waiting for the waves' arrival.

A lot of people go to the beach either after a heartbreak, or after a joyous occasion and you just need that one moment, when you are one with the world that surrounds you. Maybe its the sand, maybe its the sea, maybe its the seashells, or the footsteps you leave.

So, even though, I'm not a nature person, I'm always glad to call the beach, home.
