OOTD: my happiest place in sg

Salam alaikum!

If you know me well, you'll know I love Ikea to the maxxxxx hehe. A trip to Ikea would mean my room would at least gain one more item/decor at the end of the day. I can't help it! They have so much amazing bedroom items, you'll be spoilt for choice! Though most of the time I go there for their 50 cents refillable coffee and the swedish meatballs. Yum. Used to go to Fika Swedish Cafe for my meatball fix but I've totally jumped ship to Ikea mainly cos of the huge price difference and well, its nearer to my home.

Anyways, this spring season, Ikea brought in lots of new items! EXCITED. Ended up bringing home tonnes of pink, floral stuff and ....I was dressed for the occasion. It was really a coincidence but my OOTD was pink/white/floral too hehe.

Hmm, maybe I should do a haul entry? That'd be dangerous, I would influence ya'll to shop at Ikea too! :D

OOTD: rawr

Salam alaikum!

Another OOTD entry! I just brought in animal-prints shawls for sghijabgirl's facebook site and tried it out the other day! Not bad! Hahaha honestly wouldn't expect there would be a day I'd be brave enough to pull it off. Turns out okay. Though I think the trick is to tone down your clothes cos the leopard prints are kinda messy, in a way. You wouldn't want to be over the top with clashing prints (unless if you're confident you can pull it off then go ahead by all means! Hehe)

I especially love this shawl cos of the color combination! To me, grey complements pink beautifully! (:

It rained all day so I didn't mind wearing a shirt + argyle sweater and I loveeeee wearing pants. I prefer pants over jeans to be honest. Plus the envelope bag which I sometimes carry to school. Sometimes. As much as I love how simple and easy, I prefer a proper bag to store my pencil case, prayer items and stuff, so ya. Maybe its perfect for a trip to the nearby library to study?

Got my lacoste kicks from, I love the website though these days I stay far far away from it as possible. Ignoring all the emails telling me "60% off! 40% off!" Maybe I should just unsubscribe from their mailing list. Too tempting!

OOTD: hey sunshine!

Salam alaikum!

Its been too long! I miss this space! :(

Truth be told, I'm not really a fan of the color orange. I think this orange-white striped dress is the only orange item in my entire wardrobe. I think. Heh. Anws, the sun was exceptionally hot that day so I decided hey why not, let's put on a hat. Hahahaha! Though I don't think I'd be wearing a hat again as although I am quite brave in terms of putting on loud colored clothes, I look weird with a hat+hijab. Though Dian Pelangi looked really good wearing it!


So here's my outfit of the day!

Just a quick update! Been out and about with these lovely girls, Hanis and Dalillah! Gosh, I love meeting like-minded individuals due to our similar interests and most importantly, our main love for clothes hehe.

Recipe: Red Velvet Cupcakes

Salam alaikum!

I don't know why but I've been craving for a bite of delicious red velvet cupcake since er, last week. No time to drop by bakeries to get em' so I decided okay, I can do this. I can bake for myself one! (All these thoughts running through my head while I was in the library doing my assignment sigh the thoughts of a foodie haha!) Halfway through my work, I combed the shelves of the Food section and grabbed Nigella's book. Made a quick dash to Cold Storage to get some of the ingredients and started baking as soon as I reached home heheh. Made some changes here and there to the recipe too. Happy trying! (:


Dry Ingredients

1 1/4 cups sifted plain flour

2 huge tablespoon cocoa powder (cos I like them more chocolatey!)

1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

1/4 cup  unsalted butter, at room temperature

3/4 cup fine sugar

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla essence

2 eggs


1/2 cup  buttermilk (got mine from Cold Storage but another substitute is 1/2 tspn distilled white vinegar mix with 1/2 cup milk)

1 tablespoon liquid red food coloring


1/2 teaspoon white distilled vinegar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Heat oven to 180 degrees.

  1. Place butter and sugar in bowl and beat until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla.

  2. Make a paste of the food colouring & buttermilk.

  3. Dissolve baking soda in vinegar, add to buttermilk. (It will make a fizzy science project-ish sound hehe)

  4. Sift flour & cocoa powder & salt.

  5. Gradually add in the flour mixture, buttermilk and baking soda into the batter.

  6. Mix until smooth.

  7. Pour into cupcake cups!

  8. Bake 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven, cool 10 minutes, then invert cakes onto cooling rack and to cool completely before frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting


1 cup of cream cheese (at room temperature)

1/4 cup of unsalted butter

1/4 cup icing sugar

1/4 cup milk (didn't really followed this cos I didn't want my frosting to be too runny)

  1. Beat the cream cheese till creamy.

  2. Add butter.

  3. Gradually add the sugar into the batter.

  4. Add the milk bit by bit, stopping when it has reached the desired consistency.

I piped the frosting using Wilson 2D tip! (:
