Outfit of the Day #13/ Day 3 HFW

Its Day 3 of HFW and the theme for the day is, Break the Rules!

Gosh, I had a hard time coming up with a look for this! Haha! I was thinking of clashing prints but I was too chicken to step out of the house and be seen with it :D. One of my personal rules when it comes to clothes is, never wear black from top to toe. Maybe its just my personality but black is one of my least favourite colors heh. The rare occasions that I wear black, I'd definitely pair it with a super bright color.

For this look, I broke my rule by wearing all black, but I cheated a bit because I picked a black hijab with pink and white flowers and the Snow White print on my favourite Forever 21 sweater added some color to my outfit! To spice up this look, say hello to my striking red bag, flats and my silver hearts charm bracelet. Hope this counts as breaking the rule! ;)

Outfit of the Day #12/ Day 2 of HFW

Assalamualaikum! Its Day 2 of Hijabi Fashion Week! :) The theme for today is Hobby/Recreation

I know some might say that it is a boring hobby but I would say that I feel extremely at peace when I'm reading. Doesn't matter what genre it is, when I settle myself down with a book and perhaps, a cup of toffee nut latte (gosh the best hot drink ever), the world can pass me by and I won't even notice. That's exactly why this is my hobby because the little free time I get amidst my hectic school schedule is so precious I wouldn't want to spend it doing anything else. Unfortunately, I haven't been doing much of reading lately. More of starting books and not ending it as I get so caught up with school assignments and what nots. But its the holidays now! My lovely abandoned books, I'm coming for you! Heh!

Just for fun, I created this preppy geeky look. Argyle sweater (don't you just love argyle prints?), with an oxford blue shirt inside cos it can get really cold in the library, simple no-noise accessories as after all, you know how those patrolling security officers stare at you whenever you make just the slightest bit of noise  and a big backpack to carry all the books I've borrowed!

Just a simple look! Now I'm off to the Hijabi Fashion Week website to get inspired by other muslimahs too!

Outfit of the Day #11 / Day 1 of Hijabi Fashion Wk

Assalamualaikum everyone!

Yay! My exams are over so I'll have more time to sprinkle this website with some love, been abandoning it for too long! So to kick start with a bang! I'm participating in Hijabi Fashion Week, an online event where Muslimahs all over the world try to create looks to suit the theme of the day and post their pictures on their respective blogs. From November 27 to December 3, each day has a different theme and for today, its Day 1 -- Leaders in Hijab.

Honestly, its always easy to create looks according to what you feel like wearing on a given day but when given with a theme, I was quite, erm, oh oh, Leaders in Hijab? What do you wear? Haha! Luckily, the official website, offered some ideas. Leadership roles? What leadership roles do you have or want to try?

Easy peasy! Heheh. I'm training to become a Geography teacher, hence, the first thing that came to mind was, ah a look for school! So I grabbed my grey pants (I especially love this one from g2000 because it has this beautiful satiny sheen that my camera didn't manage to catch), light pink satin blouse, grey hijab with pink polka dots and some simple accessories. Though, come to think about it, I wouldn't choose bangles as it will create a lot of noise when I'm writing on the whiteboard! Maybe should have worn just a simple pearl bracelet. I grabbed a simple cropped pink blazer too in case it gets too cold in the office! ;)

Join Hijabi Fashion Week! Register now and participate!

Looking forward to create a look for Day 2, hmm, Hobby/Recreation!

Love, Nadia
